Negroni

The Negroni is a classic cocktail featuring just three ingredients: gin, sweet vermouth, and Campari, a bright red apéritif with a bittersweet taste.

If gin’s not your thing, substitute bourbon or rye whiskey and you’ll have a Boulevardier.

Or leave out the gin and add club soda, and you’ll have an Americano.

Imbibe Magazine and Campari teamed up in 2013 to create #NegroniWeek, which celebrates the drink and raises money for charity. Find the dates and a venue here.

Here’s Imbibe Magazine’s recipe for the classic Negroni:

1 oz. gin
1 oz. Campari
1 oz. sweet vermouth
Tools: mixing glass, bar spoon, strainer
Glass: cocktail or double rocks
Garnish: orange twist

Stir ingredients in a mixing glass with ice, strain into a chilled cocktail glass (or ice-filled double rocks glass) and garnish.
