A record number of people visited all six distilleries on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail in 2011, the Kentucky Distillers’ Association reported this week. The total of 11,757 visitors, representing all 50 states and 16 countries, was well above the previous record of 9,402, set in 2010.
The Bourbon Trail was created in 1999 by the KDA and currently includes Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, Maker’s Mark, Four Roses, Wild Turkey and Woodford Reserve. Since 2007, visitors who send in a passport stamped at all six distilleries receive a T-shirt; more than 25,000 have done so.
